The Isis Awards coordinators would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's awards--our awesome volunteers [the readers, vote counters, graphic artists, and Noelle who provided us with our webspace and layout!] who worked their butts off to make sure everything was done right and on time, and everyone who nominated fics, cast votes, and spread the word to their friends. We couldn't have done this without each one of you, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As you all know, this was Isis' first year, and because we the coordinators were pretty inexperienced at this whole awards thing, there were some bumps along the way. We sincerely apologize to anyone affected by these mistakes, and would like to take this opportunity to put the issue to rest--we reacted much too strongly to what we believed to be ballot stuffing, and took it out on the stories and their authors instead of just the cheaters themselves. This was wrong, and it will not happen again. We will not, however, tolerate ballot stuffing, so if it happens again next year, all votes from those addresses will be deleted without warning and without contest while the stories remain in the running.
We do hope that none of our mistakes this year will be held against us, and that next year the Isis Awards will be even bigger and better than before. Thanks so much for taking our little idea and turning it into something awesome.
Sincerely,
Meg and Azar
As people always say about the Oscars, it's an honor just to be nominated, right? Well, here it is, because we've made a special little honor for the nominees too, which you can grab here:
Congratulations to everyone, nominees and winners! Hope to hear from some of you again next year!
